How do I stop the pop-up windows asking me to log in?

Register your email address with us here. We will send you details on how to become a member. Or, you can sign up right away to become a member on this page.

Why should I become a member?

We need your support to publish high-quality, in-depth, fact-checked journalism! Become a member to receive our bimonthly magazine, newsletters in your inbox daily, invitations to exclusive events, and much, much more. You can sign up here.

I’m a registered reader or member: where do I log in?

You can log in on any page of our site. Click the round TAP button on the lower right of your screen, or, if you’re on a laptop, click the My Account link at the top right of any page. You’ll be asked to enter your email address—follow the instructions from there.

When logged in, you can also click My Account or the round TAP button to access your account settings, including newsletter preferences.

Do I need a password to access my account?

Not necessarily. You can also log in via Facebook, Google, Twitter, or LinkedIn accounts.

Otherwise, we can send you a “magic link” to log in without a password. When you enter your email address into our pop-up, you’ll see a prompt to check your email inbox. When you open the email sent to you by our system, you can click on the “magic link” and it will open the Prospect site exactly where you left off, and you’ll be logged in.

If you prefer to use a unique password, you can go to My Account to establish or reset your password.

Do I have to log in every time I visit the site?

No. Once logged into a browser, you’ll remain logged in unless you have privacy settings that clear your history or if you clear it manually.

However, many readers access our site using different browsers and different devices (laptop, phone, tablet), each of which requires readers to log in individually per browser and device.

If you’re not logged in already, you’ll see pop-up windows asking you to log in.

How do I update my profile, including managing billing information and newsletter preferences?

Click on My Account at the top of the site page, or on the TAP icon in the lower right-hand corner of the page. You’ll see all the options listed there.

I’m not getting the newsletters I signed up for. Where can I go to sort it out?

First, check your "My Account" settings to see that you’ve selected the newsletters you’d like to receive. If that doesn't work, check your email settings.

The solution may be as simple as adding "info @ prospect.org" to your list of email contacts. Here's a helpful article on how to "Safelist" correspondence from the Prospect in any email service.

If you’re still having trouble, please email info@prospect.org and we can look inside our email sending system to see if there’s anything else going on.

How do I sign up to become a member, or upgrade my membership level?

You can sign up through our Membership page, or go to My Account and update your settings there.

How do I cancel my membership?

Go to My Account to access your membership settings and update your status there.
