Diego A. von Vacano is associate professor of political science at Texas A&M University. He is the author of The Color of Citizenship: Race, Modernity and Hispanic/Latin American Political Thought (Oxford University Press) and is writing a new book on immigrant identities. He holds a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
