A measure that would ban coverage for abortions under private health plans was passed by both houses in Michigan last week. Gretchen Whitmer, a state senator and Democrat, called the initiative "repulsive." The prospoal would require women to pay extra fees for abortion coverage and does not include exceptions for rape or incest.
